Admissions
When do admissions open at Skill-ed for 2027-28?
Admissions for the 2027-28 session, which starts in April 2027, are open now. Children can also still join the current session in any month while a seat is free in their class. Most families finish the admission within a week of their tour.
See the steps, the documents and the age for each class on the admissions page.
What is the right age for Playgroup, Nursery, LKG and UKG?
Playgroup is for children aged 2 to 3, Nursery for 3 to 4, LKG for 4 to 5 and UKG for 5 to 6. Grade 1 is for ages 6 to 7 and Grade 2 for ages 7 to 8. Age is counted on 31 March of the admission year.
The full table, with a link to each class, is on the fees and eligibility page. Not sure where your child fits? We help you decide on the tour.
How do I apply for admission at Skill-ed?
There are four steps. Book a free tour and visit with your child, choose the class and a start date, submit the form and documents online or at the office, and then settle in gently over the first week with a parent nearby.
You can apply online in about two minutes, or book a tour first.
Which documents are needed for admission?
Bring a copy of the child's birth certificate, two colour passport photos of the child, two of the parents and the local guardian, and copies of the Aadhaar cards of the child and the parents. A transfer certificate from the previous school is needed where it applies. Forms and documents can be submitted online or at the school office.
Can my child join in the middle of the year?
Yes. Skill-ed takes admissions in any month while a seat is free in the class. Classes are small, so a new child settles quickly, and the first week is kept gentle, with short days and a parent nearby.
How do I book a school tour?
Use the Book a Tour button on any page, or call or WhatsApp +91 78 3080 3080. We call back within one working day to fix a time. Tours run Monday to Saturday, take about thirty minutes, and you are welcome to bring your child. Come on a weekday to see a class in session.
Fees
What is the fee structure at Skill-ed?
For every class from Playgroup to Grade 2 in 2026-27, registration is ₹5,000 and admission ₹25,000, each paid once. Tuition is ₹7,500 a month, paid quarterly at the start of each quarter. The school van is optional, at ₹3,500 a month within 5 km. Day care and post school charges depend on the hours a child stays.
The full table, the other yearly charges and the fee terms are on the fees and eligibility page.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. Every charge is printed on the fee sheet: registration, admission and tuition, annual charges of ₹10,000 each April from the academic year after admission, and ₹3,000 each September for Annual Day and Sports Day. Books and uniform cost extra, and transport is optional. Art, music, picnics and field trips are included.
When are the fees paid?
Tuition and transport fees are paid quarterly, by 10 April, 10 July, 10 October and 10 January, and are charged for all twelve months from April to March. A late fee of ₹50 a day applies after the due date. You can pay online, by UPI, cheque, draft or cash, or through the school app.
Are the fees refundable, and what is the notice to withdraw?
Fees paid are non-refundable, including the registration and admission fees. To withdraw a child, give the school office 30 days' written notice; without it, one month's tuition and transport fees are charged. If fees stay unpaid for more than 60 days, the child's name is removed from the school roll.
Do you offer scholarships or fee assistance?
Please ask the admissions team about any fee assistance or scholarship that is currently available. Call or WhatsApp +91 78 3080 3080, or raise it on your tour, and they will tell you what applies to your child's class.
Timings and day care
What are the school and day care timings?
Classes run Monday to Friday: Playgroup, Nursery and LKG from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and UKG, Grade 1 and Grade 2 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. There are no classes on Saturday. Day care is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the school is closed on Sunday.
The timings table also gives the office hours and the tour times.
Is day care available for working parents?
Yes. Day care runs Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM for children aged 2 to 12, with a hygienic in-house lunch, snacks, a quiet nap room and structured activities. Many families pair a morning class with day care on the same campus.
The day care page shows the meals, the nap room and the timings.
Is there a daily routine for preschoolers?
Yes. The Kindergarten day follows a set routine: morning assembly, circle time, play-based classroom learning, gymnastics or dance, a fruit break, learning through play and exploration, Talk and Tell, lunch, storytelling or role play, rhymes and songs, and a closing circle. It balances play, movement, creativity, communication and learning.
Each part of the day is described on the programmes page.
Learning
What is the curriculum like at Skill-ed?
Children learn language, numbers, movement and social skills through play, with a short structured session each morning. Playgroup begins with rhymes and sensory play, Nursery to UKG add phonics, early maths and pre-writing, and Grade 1 and 2 build reading, writing and maths.
Every class is set out side by side on the programmes page.
How big are the classes?
Classes are small by design, with a low teacher-to-child ratio, so every teacher knows every child. The exact strength varies by class and by year. Ask for the current number on your tour, where you will also meet your child's class teacher.
How will I know about my child's progress?
We keep in touch through regular updates, progress reports and parent-teacher meetings overseen by the directors. Parents also hear from us by phone and on parent-connect days, and honest, specific feedback about each child is a regular practice at Skill-ed.
What extracurricular activities do you offer?
Art, music and physical education are part of every class. After school, children get homework support and can join dance, gymnastics, skating and taekwondo. The two-week summer and winter camps add swimming, basketball, badminton, theatre, painting, music, robotics and crochet.
See post school activities and the summer camp.
How can I prepare my child for preschool?
Encourage independence, communication and basic self-help skills such as eating and washing hands. Read to your child every day, and arrange playdates so they get used to other children. A short, cheerful goodbye at the gate helps more than a long one.
Safety and care
How do you keep children safe at Skill-ed?
The campus is gated, with a single supervised entry and CCTV in the classrooms, corridors and play area. Children go home only with adults on the approved pickup list. Staff are first-aid trained, and toys, surfaces and washrooms are sanitised every day.
The details are on the health and safety page.
How do you handle emergencies or health concerns?
Trained first-aid staff are on site for every session, and the school has emergency response plans and clear policies for handling health-related issues, so that every child is looked after properly if something goes wrong.
Are meals provided?
Children in the classes bring their own tiffin from home, for the fruit break and lunch time in the school day. Food is provided only for day care children: a hygienic in-house lunch and an evening snack from the school cafeteria.
School van
Is school transport available?
Yes. Skill-ed runs three supervised school vans, each with a trained, verified driver and an attendant on board. They collect children between 8 AM and 9 AM on three routes that reach Niranjanpur, Sewla Kalan, Rajendra Nagar, Laxman Chowk, Panditwari, Premnagar and GMS Road. Transport is optional.
Every stop is on the school van routes page; how the vans are run is on the transportation page.
Which areas do the Skill-ed school vans cover?
Three vans run every morning. Route 1 covers Niranjanpur, Mehuwala, Sewla Kalan, Chaman Vihar and Pragati Vihar. Route 2 covers Rajendra Nagar, Vijay Park, Laxman Chowk and Balliwala. Route 3 covers Panditwari, Premnagar, Chakrata Road, Indira Nagar, GMS Road and Kanwali Road. Every route starts at the school at about 8 AM and is back by 9 AM.
Each stop is listed in order on the school van routes page.
What time does the school van pick children up?
Morning pickup runs between 8 AM and 9 AM. Each van leaves the school at about 8 AM, collects the children on its route stop by stop, and is back at the school by 9 AM. Call or WhatsApp +91 78 3080 3080 for the time at your stop.
How much does the school van cost?
The school van costs ₹3,500 a month for pickup and drop within 5 km of the school, paid quarterly with the tuition fee. Beyond 5 km the charge may vary. Using the van one way costs the same, the pickup and drop point must be the same, and seats depend on space on the route.
Is the school van supervised?
Yes. An attendant travels with the children at all times, and every driver is trained and verified. The vans are well maintained, children ride in small groups of 8 to 11, and pickup and drop run to a punctual schedule.
My area is not on a van route. Can my child still use the van?
Ask us. The three routes are planned around the families who use the vans each session, so a stop near you may be possible. Call or WhatsApp +91 78 3080 3080 with your locality and we will tell you whether a van can pick up there. You can also drop your child at the gate, where there is parking.
