Choosing a Programme

Which class should my child join at Skill-ed?

Go by your child's age on 31 March of the admission year: 2 to 3 is Playgroup, 3 to 4 Nursery, 4 to 5 LKG, 5 to 6 UKG, 6 to 7 Grade 1 and 7 to 8 Grade 2. If your child falls between two classes, we help you decide on the tour.

What happens after Grade 2?

Skill-ed runs up to Grade 2. After that, children move to Grade 3 at their next school. The aim of Grade 1 and Grade 2 here is that they leave reading fluently, writing on their own and confident with numbers, so the move to a bigger school is an easy one.

What are the school and day care timings?

Playgroup, Nursery and LKG run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. UKG, Grade 1 and Grade 2 run from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Day care is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The school is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sunday.

The timings table also gives the office hours and the tour times.

Is there a daily routine for preschoolers?

Yes. The Kindergarten day follows a set routine: morning assembly, circle time, play-based classroom learning, gymnastics or dance, a fruit break, learning through play and exploration, Talk and Tell, lunch, storytelling or role play, rhymes and songs, and a closing circle. It balances play, movement, creativity, communication and learning.

Each part of the day is described on the programmes page.

Is day care available for working parents?

Yes. Day care runs Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM for children aged 2 to 12, with a hygienic in-house lunch, snacks, a quiet nap room and structured activities. Many families pair a morning class with day care on the same campus.

The day care page shows the meals, the nap room and the timings.

What is the curriculum like at Skill-ed?

Children learn language, numbers, movement and social skills through play, with a short structured session each morning. Playgroup begins with rhymes and sensory play, Nursery to UKG add phonics, early maths and pre-writing, and Grade 1 and 2 build reading, writing and maths.

Every class is set out side by side on the programmes page.
