A First School That Feels Like Play
Skill-ed is a preschool and play school at Balliwala Chowk, Dehradun, opposite Urja Bhawan. Founded in 2015, it takes children from their first goodbye at the gate to reading, writing and counting with confidence.
The four preschool years run from Playgroup at age 2 to UKG at age 6, and Grade 1 and Grade 2 follow on the same campus. Many parents call the first two years play school: at Skill-ed they are Playgroup, the Explorers, and Nursery, the Discoverers.

Mornings in Class, Care Until 6 PM
Preschool classes run Monday to Friday. Playgroup, Nursery and LKG finish at 12:30 PM, and UKG at 1:30 PM, with Grade 1 and Grade 2. A child who needs a longer day stays on in day care on the same campus until 6:00 PM, Saturdays included.

Campus and safety
A campus built for little children
The campus has nine classrooms, an 80-seat auditorium, an indoor play area and a swimming pool. It has a single supervised entry, CCTV covers the classrooms, corridors and play area, and a child goes home only with an adult on the approved pickup list.

Three morning van routes
Three vans run three morning routes between 8 AM and 9 AM, through Niranjanpur, Mehuwala, Sewla Kalan, Chaman Vihar, Pragati Vihar, Rajendra Nagar, Vijay Park, Laxman Chowk, Panditwari, Premnagar, Chakrata Road, Indira Nagar, GMS Road and Kanwali Road. Seats on each route are limited, so ask us whether your colony is on one.

How the preschool fees work
One fee structure covers every class from Playgroup to Grade 2: registration and admission, each paid once, and monthly tuition, paid quarterly. The school van is optional, within 5 km. Our admissions team shares the amounts on a call, on WhatsApp or at your campus visit.

At what age can my child start preschool at Skill-ed?
Playgroup takes children aged 2 to 3, counted on 31 March of the admission year. Nursery is for ages 3 to 4, LKG for 4 to 5 and UKG for 5 to 6. A child joins at the class that matches their age, and if they fall between two, we help you decide on the tour.
Is Skill-ed a play school or a kindergarten?
Both. Parents in Dehradun often say play school for the first two years, Playgroup and Nursery, and kindergarten for LKG and UKG. Skill-ed runs all four as one preschool, followed by Grade 1 and Grade 2, on one campus at Balliwala Chowk, opposite Urja Bhawan.
What are the preschool timings at Skill-ed?
Preschool classes run Monday to Friday, with no classes on Saturday. Playgroup, Nursery and LKG run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and UKG from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Children who need a longer day can stay on in day care on the same campus until 6:00 PM, and day care is open on Saturday too.
Can my child stay on after preschool?
Yes. Day care runs on the same campus until 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, for children aged 2 to 12. A child finishes the morning class, has lunch, rests in the nap room and plays with the same familiar adults until a parent or an approved adult collects them.
